This hotel, the Antelope Hills Lodging and Rec, was built in 1911and has served the community as a hotel, cafe, bar, and most recently, an apartment building. It needs some TLC but is functional. 2 apartments were added in 1975. There are 5 partly furnished units with kitchens and 3/4 baths on the second floor. The main floor has a kitchen, laundry room, main lobby, public bathrooms, 2 bathrooms adjacent to the sleeping areas. The newer addition has 2 units with kitchens and full bathrooms When the business was in operation. it was full much of the time, between long term residents, construction workers and hunters. The business was closed 6 years ago due to heath issues of the owner. There is a main floor and second floor porch on the front of the hotel, and a 2nd floor porch on the south side of the hotel. The basement had some apartments at one time. There was an apartment fire and it wasn't rebuilt. The property is on the National Historic Register. The owner has tried to maintain the historic theme as much as possible. The owner furnished hot water and electric heaters for the apartments. The propane furnaces don't work. This property has a lot of character and potential. It is 45 miles to Bismarck.
