Description
Staying at the Best Western Movie Manor feels like stepping into a roadside tradition you didn’t realize still existed. Built beside a classic drive-in theater, the motel lets guests watch films right from their room — a rare setup that has survived since the 1960s. Rooms are oriented toward the screen, and the property embraces its theme with movie memorabilia, a relaxed retro vibe, and a layout that reflects its original motor-court roots.
The charm here isn’t staged nostalgia; it’s the genuine continuation of a mid-century travel experience. The surrounding San Luis Valley landscape adds to the feeling of wide-open, old-school road-tripping. It’s one of the most unique overnight stays in Colorado and a reminder that some mom-and-pop concepts still live on through careful preservation and local pride.
Fourteen units of the Movie Manor Motel were completed in 1964. Thirty years later, room capacity has more than doubled as a Best Western motel. A second outdoor screen was added in 2003. The drive-in theater includes a snack bar, and a restaurant is next door to the motel.
